Step 1: Install

First we make a copy of your site, back up its files to a version-controlled repository and use these files to get the site running in a sandbox environment. In this environment, which is essentially a copy of your live site, an experienced developer installs WordPress core and plugin updates - this makes no changes to the live site.

Step 2: Test

With the updates installed in the sandbox environment we thoroughly test all aspects of the site to make sure everything is working as expected. The most innocent looking updates have been known to take entire sites down and these issues are highlighted at this point. Any problem code can be rolled back to the latest working version in our repository.

Step 3: Deploy

With all updates thoroughly tested we're ready to put our changes live. These changes come directly from the repository which ensures the only files that change are the ones that should. The files are updated instantly, no more 'Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance' messages!
